Pentru prevenirea sau tratamentul escarelor de gradul 1. Salteaua este formata din celule individuale cu flux de aer cu ciclu variabil. Circuland aerul din saltea, stimuleaza suprafata pielii, beneficiind in acelas timp de o mai buna circulatie a sangelui in zonele afectate. Vine dotat cu compresorul de aer. Presiunea aerului este reglabila prin rotirea unui buton intre 50 - 105 mmHg, emisia de aer este de 4-6 l / min, iar durata ciclului de 6 minute.
